Mexico Has Many Outstanding Attributes:
- Macroeconomic factors are relatively strong: the U.S. Dollar / Peso exchange rate is stable, interest rates are low, and industrial output is growing currently at 8%.
- The business climate is good: According to the OECD, Mexico receives the top ranking throughout Latin America for ease of doing business (and in a worldwide comparison, Mexico surpasses all four BRIC countries -- Brazil, Russia, India, and China).
- New federal laws are in place: to combat money laundering and to oblige the federal government to support and promote civil society organizations.
- While violence in Mexico is in the spotlight and of proactive concernNationally, the homicide rate nationally is relatively low: Despite an increasing number of local exceptions such as Ciudad Juarez, Mexico has a national homicide rate of 15 per 100,000 citizens – more than five times lower than Venezuela (76 per 100,000), less than half that of South Africa (31 per 100,000) and on par with Russia (14.9 per 100,000).
