Careers and Internships

The U.S.-Mexico Foundation (USMF) is dedicated to promoting binational understanding and collaboration, and to empower Mexican youth through unique educational programs focused on STEM, English language learning and civic engagement. We execute our mission working in three different ways: (1) Operating USMF’s unique binational programs (2) Grant-giving to local non profit organizations in Mexico and (3) Promoting constructive dialogue on key topics of binational interest.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Administrative and Accounting Associate

The administration and accounting associate will be supporting the CEO with the office and accounting administration work. This is an excellent employment opportunity for an accounting student or accounting professional with bookkeeping experience. This is a part-time position based in our New York City office.

Requirements:

-Be bilingual in English and Spanish
-Excellent organizational skills
-Knowledgeable in Microsoft office
-Knowledgeable of accounting and U.S. Non Profit Regulation
-Knowledgeable of QuickBooks and online banking
-Knowledgeable in recording travel expenses, in-kind donations, and other office expenses
-Experience in payroll management
-Knowledgeable in expense management systems is a plus
-Familiarity working in a non profit organization is a plus

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

We are currently seeking self-motivated, hard working college-level students and graduates to join our team as interns in our New York City office, that can work with little to no supervision. Although these internships are unpaid, as a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization we can provide college credit (if it applies) and not to mention the great opportunity for students seeking to understand at a deeper level the binational agenda between the U.S. & Mexico and gain immense valuable skills in program management, communications, research and the unique opportunity to work closely with a CEO. In addition, high performance interns could be eligible for paid positions within the foundation once their internship is over.

Interns will be working an average of 15-25 hours per week with the flexibility to set their own schedule with their supervisor. Interns will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Research and Analytics Internship

The research and analytics intern will support the program manager of the Dreamers Without Borders in a research activity specific to the evaluation of the program.

Requirements:

-Be bilingual in English and Spanish or English dominant
-Ability to work well in a team
-Excellent research capabilities and experience
-Excellent communications and writing skills
-Knowledgeable in Microsoft office (including but not limited to powerpoint, word & excel)
-Knowledgeable in all google drive formats
-Experience writing research statements is a plus
-Familiarity working in a non profit organization is a plus

Development Internship

The Development intern will support the CEO on all fundraising efforts, including but not limited to identification of donor leads, writing of grant proposals, budget development, management of donor relationships and reporting to donors.

Requirements:

-Be bilingual in English or Spanish or English dominant
-Ability to work well in a team
-Experience in preparing program budgets
-Experience in doing research to identify donor leads is a plus
-Experience in managing donor leads is a plus
-Experience in writing grant proposals
-Accounting knowledge is a plus
-Past experience in fundraising is a plus
-Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (including but not limited to Powerpoint, Word & Excel)
-Knowledgeable in all google drive formats
-Excellent communication skills and writing skills
-Familiarity working in a non profit organization is a plus
