The U.S.-Mexico Foundation is proud to have funded a new documentary and educational program focused on the stories of youths and children of Mexican origin who grew up in the United States but returned to Mexico with their families.
"Una Vida, Dos Paises" is a new documentary chronicling, through personal stories and statistics, the challenges and opportunites faced by youths and children who grew up in the United States but returned to Mexico with their families. The documentary was produced by Professor Tatyana Kleyn, Director of Bilingual Education at the City College of New York.
In addition to the film, the project features an innovative curriculum designed by Professor Kleyn to provide teachers in Mexico with tools to facilitate the integration of these young returnees to their classrooms.
The USMF is proud to support projects like "Una Vida, Dos Paises" that highlight the important, yet often overlooked, phenomenon of return migration to Mexico and provide new approaches to addressing the challenges and opportunities it represents.
